Uses and Applications.

Interior and exterior forms of carpentry - including windows. The Silent Paint Remover™ removes quickly heats multiple layers of paint and varnish. It also heats window glazing at the same time - making window restoration quick, easy, and effective. While you scrape, the next surface is heated up with little work interruption.

Other Applications include:

Wooden boats. This is an ideal tool for removal of varnish on wooden boats. Thick layers of varnish and paint can be removed with a sharp scraper after heating. Thin layers can be removed by heating and buffing with steel-wool. You can also utilize diluted linseed oil (80% linseed oil 20% mineral spirits). Do not use "turpentine" when diluting boiled linseed oil. Turpentine will leave a residue after it dries that is not recommended and may have negative impact on the adhesion of various paint. Apply the linseed oil and let it soak in for 24 hours. Reheat and buff with steel wool. The Silent Paint Remover™ also works on removing bottom paint. Utilize the linseed oil mixture, heat and scrape. Wooden Boat Magazine highlighted The Silent Paint Remover™ in the July 2003 issue. The Wooden Boat review was amazingly favorable. Several museums in the USA have adopted our new method. For example: Mystic Seaport, CT. Philadelphia Independent Seaport Museum, PA and Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, St Michaels, MD.

Metal. The Silent Paint Remover™ may also work on thin metal that has been painted - like metal gutters. Testing is suggested.

Plaster. It may be possible to remove paint from plaster and using The Silent Paint Remover™ but you must be extremely careful when scraping in order not to damage the plaster.

Fiberglass. Heat may damage the gelcoat. You must be careful not to overexpose.

Brick, marble and concrete. Marble, brick and concrete will require a much longer heating time. It will also take longer time scraping off the paint on these surfaces. Consider trying a rental to test work on your specific application work with this tool.
